Do It Yourself - Chopping Block
Step 3a

After the glued wood is dry, all pre-determined dimensions are measured on the wood and trimmed via a table saw.

Step 3b With the help of an electric hand planer, we levelled all the surfaces of the wood.
Step 3c Using a homemade concoction of very fine sawdust and Elmer's glue, a putty is made which matches the wood coloring. Let the putty dry for a few days or until it has hardened.
Step 3d

All surfaces are now sanded using an electric orbital hand sander. We started with 80 grit sandpaper and worked our way our to 180 grit.

All cracks and small holes are filled in generously.

This is the most important step. Make sure the surfaces are super smooth and no cracks, dents or unevenness appear on the chopping block.
